Understand the care
What care is being offered?
If this sounds familiar
You want help with a health problem. The offer talks about helping your body repair itself. Which treatment is it offering?
Get the exact name and purpose
“Regenerative” suggests helping the body repair itself. Ask the service which treatment it means and what evidence shows it can help your health problem.
Ask the person treating you to name the treatment and explain what it is meant to help. Keep that answer beside the quote.
Peptides are small strings of the building blocks used to make proteins; insulin belongs to this group.
Telehealth is care through video, a phone call or online questions, instead of sharing a room with the person treating you.
The place where a visit happens and the medicine being offered are separate questions. Check both.
Know which kind of medicine it is
The US agency responsible for reviewing medicines for approval is the Food and Drug Administration, or FDA.
Semaglutide, sold as Ozempic and Wegovy, provides an example of a medicine with FDA approval as of September 26, 2026.
Compounding prepares medicine to order instead of supplying a finished product from a factory.
Compounded medicines have no FDA approval as of September 26, 2026; FDA does not review their quality, benefits or safety before they go on sale.
According to FDA, a medicine prepared to order may fill a medical need left unmet by an approved medicine.
Ask why that choice fits the medical problem. The explanation needs to be about the treatment, as well as its price.
Check who can care for you
Medical-board guidance checked September 26, 2026 allows care to start by phone or computer. The person treating you must still assess your health as carefully as the care requires.
Ask how they will get enough information to decide on care. State rules differ, so ask the service which rules apply where you will be.
HHS is the US Department of Health and Human Services.
The HHS guidance checked September 26, 2026 requires the person providing care to hold a licence or another form of legal permission. That permission has to apply in the state you are in when the visit takes place.
Tell the service where you will be, including if you are travelling.
Doctors receive permission to practise from a state medical board, which publishes licence records and records of any action against them.
For a telehealth service or an in-person clinic, ask for the doctor’s full name. Find the board for your state and check the record there.
